Ps 33:6-7, NKJV
By the word of the LORDthe heavens were made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses.

Pray that the Vakkalinga people will experience the abundance of both physical and spiritual water from above.

Vakkaliga People

by WK

(This story illustrates attitudes of this people group.)
The middle aged Vakkaliga farmer wiped the sweat off his brow and gazed at the clear blue sky. There wasn’t a cloud to be seen anywhere. Then he gazed at the furrows he’d been plowing and saw that they were bone dry. He wondered if it would do any good to pray for rain. None of the Hindu gods seemed willing or able to produce the rain his fields needed.
The Vakkaliga have been farmers and landlords in India’s state of Karnataka for as long as anyone can remember. This people group is divided into clans, and each clan has a patron god. The Vakkaliga people also worship the main gods of the Hindu pantheon.
Some members of this people group have material wealth, but they do not have the spiritual wealth that comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Pray for the Vakkaliga people to soon gain the spiritual abundance that only Jesus Christ has to offer. Ask God to break the hold that Hinduism has on this people group. Pray that God would lead a mission agency to work with the Vakkaliga people. Pray that there will soon be hundreds of Vakkaliga disciples of Christ who share his spiritual wealth with others.
