Isaiah 43:18-19, NLT
But forget all that--it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

Pray that throughout this month the Lord will do something in your heart, so you will anticipate his mighty acts on the Comoro Islands.

Shibushi People of the Comoro Islands

by WM

The island of Maore is beautiful! Lush forests rise and fall with the hills, forming a striking contrast with the turquoise coastal waters, quickly deepening to the bluest azure. But to the young couple who had just arrived on this French territory of the Comoros Islands, the beauty was overshadowed by uncertainty.
They came in answer to a call. God had set in their hearts the Shibushi tribe, one of the main peoples of Maore Island. At this point there are no disciples of Christ among this people group; they are entirely Muslim.
The young husband and wife had left their home to travel to this unfamiliar part of the world. Though they were sure of their task, difficulties still loomed. Bureaucracy had to be navigated such as residency papers, a driver’s license, car insurance. They were expecting the arrival of a child, a great joy, but also a responsibility more pressing in their new situation.
In all, they hoped to proclaim Christ to the Shibushi through their example. A family devoted to Jesus would be a powerful testimony to the kingdom of God. Though hard work and many adversities stood in their way, God’s salvation accomplished in the lives of the people of Maore would be worth it all.

Pray that this couple will display Christ to the Shibushi and continue to do so with joy, no matter what the circumstances. Pray that through them God’s Spirit would do a great work and bring the Shibushi people to repentance and salvation.
