1 John 4:18, NLT
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

Pray for a supernatural love that casts out fear to come to the Jalo Berbers of Libya.

Jalo Berbers

by JS

Berbers were among the earliest inhabitants of North Africa stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to Egypt. Five North African countries have large Berber populations: Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt. The Jalo Berbers are found in Libya, and mostly inhabit important oases that have been caravan crossroads for thousands of years. Though Berbers are not Arabs, most speak Arabic along with their own dialect. They are Sunni Muslim, but only loosely follow Muslim laws. Though Muslim men can have four wives, Jalo men are only allowed one.
Because raising livestock rather than farming dominates their livelihood, the Jalo Berbers are somewhat nomadic. However, there are two important oasis communities where many live. One is Jalo, 400 kilometers south of Benghazi, Libya, and the other is Awjlah, 200 miles south of Benghazi. Berbers are renowned for their wool production, weaving, and fine needlework. The latter is painstakingly done by the men!

Pray for God to soften the hearts of Jalo Berbers. Pray that God will call loving believers to reach out to the Jalo and introduce them to Jesus. Ask God to raise up faithful intercessors who will stand in the gap for the Jalo Berbers. May a strong local church planting movement begin among their clans and tribes. Pray that by the end of this decade, there will be hundreds of disciples among them.
