Revelation 2:4, RSV
But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.

Intercessor, He loves you. He commends you for all the good things you are doing. But he is jealous when your intercessions and good work start replacing your joyful times spent with him in worship, praise, and plain old hanging out (what He calls “abiding in him). When praying, you don’t have to twist his arm to persuade him to save peoples. He is right there praying with you, so don’t let your intercession ever turn into a chore!

Pray that Jesus will be presented to the Balais by people who are in love with him!

Balai (aka, Balay) People

by TP

How can one people be so different? The Balai people are scattered across several states of India: Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and the federal capital of Delhi. Accordingly, they do not speak the same language, although some in each state will speak Hindi, one of the key official languages of India. In at least one state they are designated as a scheduled caste people which means that they are legally entitled to some affirmative action benefits such as being given certain jobs.
Numbering between 1.6 and 2.4 million people, they have mostly abandoned weaving leaf plates and cups for agricultural or industrial labor, self-employment, plumbing, carpentry, or civil service. Outside of major cities, they live in multi-caste villages in caste-segregated housing and intermarry within two of their own clans. Even their food differs, as some eat pork and others do not.
The vast majority are Hindus. Fewer than one-half of one percent are Christians, and few are literate. Consequently they need oral evangelistic tools. In some of their languages, the JESUS Film, recordings, and radio broadcasts of biblical material are available, especially in Hindi. The entire Bible also is available in Hindi.

Pray that key Balai persons will become interested in Jesus via film, recordings, and radio. Pray that God will raise up Indian churches to boldly and lovingly evangelize this people group. Pray that Balai believers will be winsome witnesses to friends, relatives, colleagues, and customers among their people. Pray for a disciple making movement to emerge among them.
