Philippians 3:13-14
Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Is the prize, the upward calling, the focus of our lives? If so, then let us pursue the goal. What is this goal which God has established and which Paul describes? It is an increasingly intimate knowledge of Himself in which we experience “the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings” (v. 10). Such an experiential knowledge of God will inevitably lead us into sacrificial service for the peoples of the earth-the men and women for whom Jesus died.

Lord, lead us into a sweeter knowledge of Jesus and His love.

Zoroastrian Parsees in Australia

“Good thoughts, good words, good deeds.” As the temple fire leaps higher and hotter, the priest intones the prophet Zoroaster’s teachings. “Good is the province of God and evil comes from Satan.” Wearing their “white shirts of righteousness,” the Parsees bow to worship fire as the son of God, believing it is the visible representation of an invisible creator father. Angels are the third part of their trinity.

Early on, Parsees brought fire from Persia (Iran) to light a temple fire in Udwada, India, still the highest spiritual shrine in their practice of the Zoroastrian religion. Parsees still excel, prosper and contribute in every area of life all over the world, building temples even in the West. The many Parsees of Australia mobilize Parsee activities everywhere in hopes that they will retain their culture and never abandon their Zoroastrian faith.

Only a handful of believers are reaching out to the Parsees, and only about 30 have put their faith in Jesus. Dare we close our eyes to their need for Jesus Christ because they are such “good” people?

Pray for intercessors to fast and pray for Parsees, who need to be clothed in the righteousness of Christ. Pray that God will raise up more people to join the few ministries to the Parsees.-MLC
