Psalm 49:16-17
Do not be overawed when a man grows rich, when the splendor of his house increases; for he will take nothing with him when he dies, his splendor will not descend with him.

It would be very easy to be impressed with the various people groups this month who have a way of making money that seems to defy mathematics. Groups like the Yadavas are enjoying the material goods offered by their station in life, but they are missing out on eternity. To over simplify things, in eternity you are either with Christ or away from Him.

Pray that the Yadava people will understand their spiritual poverty and take Christ with them for eternity.

Yadava People

by JR

Being a successful business or political leader certainly has its advantages and perks! In India the Yadava people are accustomed to these things because they’ve been very fruitful in their endeavors. Animal husbandry and the sale of their products are their traditional occupations, but nowadays, there are numbers of Yadava doctors, business owners, teachers, engineers, and political leaders.
The Yadava people often live in joint families, with many family members sharing relatively small quarters. It isn’t unusual for the Yadavas to pool their resources to help their business efforts succeed even more.

For centuries, the Yadavas have been committed to Hinduism. They express this commitment by singing in praise of their god Vishnu and by taking the time to develop great expertise in Hindu oral traditions.

Many of them place greater faith in astrology and talismans than in the services of a doctor. Yadavas devote themselves to several traditional and socio-religious festivals. The church is nearly nonexistent among the Yadava community. There are no significant number of Evangelicals or Christians of any other sort among them.

Pray that God’s people will be moved to begin connecting with the Yadava personally, befriending them and making the gospel meaningful to them. Pray that God will move among the Yadavas in new ways that call their attention to Jesus.
