1 Timothy 1:15
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.

Why did Jesus come? Over and over again the gospel record clearly says that Jesus came into the world with one central purpose: to minister and to give His life as a ransom for all who would accept Him. He did not come for the religious or the (self) righteous, but for those who were and are aware of their own spiritual need. Our role is to take this good news to those who have had no opportunity to hear.

Pray that God will use His children this month to share this good news with the Western Mashan Miao peoples who still haven’t heard.

Western Mashan Miao (ma-shahn-meow)

by PE

“O - - eeeh - - O” The farmer cupped his hands and projected his voice across the trees and valleys to his village in the unique way of the Western Mashan Miao people. Without phones, this people group has learned an incredible skill that allows them to contact others and preclude the difficult journey miles down one mountain and up another to reach a neighboring community.
Industrious and musical, they love to compose songs and dance. But being among the poorest and most underdeveloped people of Asia, they face escalating health risks. Water is contaminated in more than three- fourths of their villages by factory, animal, or human waste. No written script exists for their language, so illiteracy is the norm.

The 35,000 Western Mashan Miao have no witness of Christ’s grace. None. William Clifton Dodd, who traveled through their part of China in the 1920s, called it a “land of darkness that may be felt.” An elaborate system of spirit appeasement engulfs their fruitless spiritual lives. Desperate to receive good crops and raise enough children to work the land, they placate hostile spirits.

Pray that God will call workers to take the promise of salvation and abundant life to these hopeless people through the gospel of Christ. Pray for the pure, clean water of the Holy Spirit to wash through every village and mountaintop and claim the Western Mashan Miao for the Kingdom of God.
