Hebrews 10:31
It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

One of the themes of Hebrews is the supremacy of Christ. He is the final judge whether or not people want to acknowledge it. Those who accept His blood sacrifice will be saved, while those who continue in their fleshly ways will fall into the hands of a wrathful God. Which will it be? That question might well be answered by whether or not someone goes to tell them of the choice they have between enjoying God’s mercy or enduring His wrath.

Pray for workers to go to Telugu speaking peoples like the Velamas with the choice of mercy or wrath. Pray that thousands will have the gift of faith that leads to mercy and eternal life.

Velama People of India

The chubby Velama boy sat on the chair while his nanny combed his slick hair, the cook tried to feed him with his favorite treats, and the watchman polished the black shoes on his feet. “I don’t like it!” he hollered. “Little Master, unless you eat you will not be able to study well,” cajoled the cook. “How many times do I have to tell you, I don’t like the food you make!” the boy yelled, kicking the watchman who was sitting on his haunches trying to polish the boy’s shoes.

The boy’s father who walked into the room had heard everything that had transpired, and all he did was find a comfortable chair to read his morning paper. Emboldened by his father’s apathy the boy demanded, “Are you going to bring me some chocolate cookies now?” “Yes, Little Master,” replied the cook before scuttling to the kitchen.

The chubby Velama boy knew all too well that as the landlord’s only son, he would inherit a lifestyle of luxury. He was at liberty to abuse the many servants who worked for his father. The situation has continued for many generations, and it will continue until the Holy Spirit changes hearts.

Pray for God to move in the lives of Velama families, so that they and the people they abuse can be set free from sin and tyranny.-EJD
