Isaiah 19:23-24 (the Message)
On that Day, there will be a highway all the way from Egypt to Assyria: Assyrians will have free range in Egypt and Egyptians in Assyria. No longer rivals, they'll worship together, Egyptians and Assyrians! On that Day, Israel will take its place alongside Egypt and Assyria, sharing the blessing from the center. God-of-the-Angel-Armies, who blessed Israel, will generously bless them all: "Blessed be Egypt, my people!...Blessed be Assyria, work of my hands!...Blessed be Israel, my heritage!"

Though God mentioned only a couple of nations here, we know from other Scriptures that He intends for all nations to worship Him together. Despite what you read in today’s paper about what is happening in Sudan, God will lead every people group in that nation to worship Him.

Pray that the Lord will speed the day when the Sudanese Arabs will worship Him and be a blessing on the earth.

Sudanese Arabs in Egypt

by PE

Egypt is just north of the nation called Sudan; they share a long border, and the Red Sea is just to the east of these countries. Because Sudan also borders Ethiopia and other African nations, the Arabs of Sudan have intermingled with people of African descent, and many Sudanese peoples tend to have a darker skin tone and some Negroid features.

The Egyptian oil fields have beckoned many Sudanese Arabs with the promise of a steady livelihood, so today approximately 4,000,000 Sudanese Arabs live in Egypt.
Egyptians and Sudanese are united by the Nile Valley, which meanders the length of both nations. However, since Sudanese Arabs are considered neither foreigners nor citizens, they are in a precarious and uncertain political position in Egypt. What these two people do share is their Islamic faith, which teaches that Jesus is a prophet, not a savior.

Pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal to Sudanese Arabs the full nature of Christ in all His power and glory. Pray that Egyptian believers will reach out to the Sudanese Arabs. Also remember to pray for the few believers among the Sudanese Arabs in Egypt; for their protection, growth and maturity. Pray that they will live a life that reflects Christ’s character to their Muslim neighbors. Pray for open hearts and a great desire to follow Him.
