Isaiah 65:25
The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but dust will be the serpent’s food.

In a world where “might makes right” like today’s Libya, it would be very comforting to know that there will come a day when God’s perfect justice will reign. No longer will one tribe oppress another through violence. God’s Kingdom will be so peaceful that even predators and their former prey will feed together. Will the tribes of Libya embrace this Kingdom or will they seek to oppress one another?

Pray for Libya’s tribes to understand God’s Kingdom and embrace His ways. Pray that oppression and violence will become a thing of the past in this North African country.

Qadhadfa Tribe

by WK

Shots rang out as someone shouted, “Get them! They’re cousins of Colonel Gadafi!” The land rover carrying the family sped away as angry town’s people fired at them. After leaving town the family drove off the main road, hoping that side roads would allow them to avoid rebel check points. The Libyan Civil War had made it unsafe for members of the Qadhadfa tribe in many parts of Libya.
Qadhadfa is an Arab tribe that lives in the western part of the country. This tribe played a key role in the military coup that overthrew Libya’s monarchy in 1969 and brought Colonel Gadafi to power. Gadafi richly rewarded his tribe by giving many of them high government and military positions. But that association became a curse in early 2011 when the Libyan rebels began targeting members of the Qadhadfa tribe for death.
Almost all Qadhadfas are Muslims. There are few followers of Jesus Christ among them.

Pray for the restoration of peace in Libya. Ask God to open Libya to missionary activity. Pray that the Qadhadfa tribe would be transformed by submitting their lives to Jesus Christ. Ask God to break the hold that Islam has on this people group.
