This principle of personal multiplication is the key means of creating a movement. Paul intended that church planters should be trained through the principle of personal multiplication. As Paul had trained Timothy to establish new churches, Timothy was to equip others to do the same. Today we are praying for a people group that has only 15 believers. Is that enough to reach the entire people group for Christ? Perhaps it is if they work together to win, equip, and disciple new “go-ers.”
Pray that these 15 Pattani believers will win, and equip others to go to their neighbors until the entire people is reached for Christ.
Santosh slowly lifted his hoe and backed away. His face flushed, and the hair on his 15-year-old back felt like it was standing on end.
Just then, his nine-year-old sister, Sheila, came running up to him. In a loud whisper, Santosh said, “Stop, Sheila!” She looked down where his hoe was, and there was the biggest cobra she had ever seen.
Sheila soon returned with their grandmother. The old woman was very excited. “That is the King Snake! He has come to our potato garden to bless us.” Santosh said, “Grandma, it’s just a cobra. You don’t really believe all that stuff about the power of the King Snake, do you?” Hush! she said. “If he hears you, we will not receive a blessing.” Just then the cobra slithered away, and the grandmother sharply scolded her grandson.
This family is from the Pattani people group of India’s mountainous state of Himachal Pradesh. Most of them are Hindu, though there are Pattanis who are Tibetan Buddhist in the eastern part of the Pattan Valley. Only about 15 of them have put their faith in Christ. Fortunately, there are now 20 Bible stories translated into their language, which are being distributed to them.
