How easy it is for us to be caught up in trivial affairs. God wants our vision to be fixed on what is eternally meaningful-proclaiming and demonstrating that He is King, and living with heaven in view. God delights in His children who dream His dreams after Him. Are your dreams too small? Hundreds of years ago Francis Xavier urged his college companions, “Give up your small ambitions and come to India!”
O God, give us the eyes of faith to see both the joys of heaven and the opportunities of earth.
I had sensed before we went to North Korea (NK) that this was one of the places on earth where Satan has a stronghold and a commanding post. While I was praying for NK once, I saw in my mind’s eye the topography of Pyongyang and then another dark, shadowy city’s skyline above it, beyond it, and in it. I thought at once that this was the stronghold, the principality, or the city of darkness that was influencing NK society and holding it captive. This battle is certainly not against flesh and blood!
Since coming home, I believe that God has revealed six of the major strongholds that the enemy has been using to control North Korea. These strongholds are unforgiveness, pride, secularism, idolatry, fear, and division.
I’d asked the Lord, “What are the ways to battle in the spirit?” I believe that He revealed His plan. The church needs to go into North Korea and pray with the opposite spirit of these strongholds, and, should we find ourselves guilty of any of these, let us confess them and ask for forgiveness. We must live in a way that is in direct opposition to that in which the enemy is having the people walk. Pray also that the Lord will break North Koreans of their pride, their unforgiveness and their secularism so there will be room for the Holy Spirit to move into their lives.-Present member, “The World Network for North Korea Missions.”Learn more at joshuaproject.net
