Daily Topic for April 14, 2012
Here is the message for Muslims: You are right, there will be a day of judgment, and the Almighty will establish justice on the earth. But the judge will be the One who rose from the dead on Easter morning. He is the firstborn of the resurrection, the One who has conquered death. Will you be willing to embrace Him before that time?
Pray that Muslim Bengalis will embrace the Risen Savior and produce the fruit of repentance.

Gujarati Muslims have been living in the London area since the 1950s. Large numbers of them also came to London after being expelled from Uganda, Kenya, and other African countries during the 1970s. The 2001 census revealed there were over 131,000 Indian Muslims living in England. There are several halal (ie, the Muslim version of kosher) restaurants run by Indian Muslims. The Muslims of Indian origin in London are financially better off than just about any South Asian Muslim peoples.
In general, younger Indian Muslims in London are becoming more sharply focused on their identity as Muslims since the 9/11 attacks on the United States. These particular Muslims are usually from the Sufi sect which is much more mystical and emotional than other forms of Islam.
Younger Gujarati Muslims are bilingual, while their older relatives tend to only speak Gujarati. As is so often the case, the older generation has greater difficulty integrating with the British mores and customs, while the younger generation is attempting to connect with their adopted home and think more about the future.
Pray that Christ’s followers in London will make specific efforts to connect with Gujarati Muslims. Pray that Gujarati Muslims of all ages will knock, seek, and find their true Savior. Pray that God will stir a hunger for spiritual truth that will lead them to the cross.
