In this description of the New Jerusalem John mentions gates on all four sides. Could this be symbolic of peoples from all four directions coming to inhabit the New Jerusalem? There are people from all directions and nations coming through the gates. God’s word tells us that not everyone will enter the New Jerusalem in that final time. But He has said that people from every tribe and nation who know Him and love Him will be allowed to enter and worship the true and living God with great joy. Some of these groups have still not heard the good news about Christ making a way for all who receive Him to enter His kingdom.
Pray for workers to go to the nations, so that many more will enter the gates.
Along with new leadership in 2008 came a new vision for the Mission to Unreached Peoples (MUP) organization. MUP now has a new vision for “church planting movements (CPM)” where they seek to transform an unreached people group through the principles Jesus taught his disciples when He sent out the 12 and the 72 in Matt. 10 and Luke 9 and 10. CPM is popularly defined as, “a rapid multiplication of indigenous churches planting churches that sweeps through a people group or population segment.”
MUP’s goal is to put this strategy into practice throughout the world using 430 strategy teams applying Jesus’ model: pray extraordinarily, find a person within the people group that is spiritually open to Christ, share a biblical story of relevance with that person and their family, and ask questions about the story that will help them to share the story with others. As natural leaders arise and accept Christ, the teams will equip and teach them how to share the good news of Christ with others. They must mentor the new leaders so they can explain the gospel in a culturally relevant way to new interested people and address questions and doctrinal issues.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that the Lord will supply the laborers for MUP’s 430 strategy teams. Pray for a movement of the Holy Spirit to sweep through the people as they hear the biblical stories for perhaps the very first time. Pray especially for CPM workers in India among the Telugu peoples as the new work begins.-MUP staff
