Quoting Isaiah 49:6, Paul showed that he clearly understood God’s intention for the Jewish nation to be a light to the Gentiles. Instead of quoting his own commission to the Gentiles given to him on the road to Damascus, he chose to quote God’s commission of all Jews as found in the Old Testament. In rejecting that commission, the Jewish leaders who listened to Paul not only rejected the Gentiles and Paul; they rejected God Himself. As a result, Paul turned to the Gentiles, who immediately “began rejoicing and glorifying the work of the Lord.” The result? “The Word of the Lord spread through the whole region.” Yes, the nations are responsive to the gospel, if we will only bring it to them!
“Let us help you. We will love you and understand you. We will welcome you with open arms. We want to introduce you to the messiah, the lord of the Second Advent!” Such are the words heard by Muslims and African Christians who are new in the faith in Dublin, Ireland. These words are spoken by members of Rev. Moon’s Unification Church. For the most part this cult has failed to see success within the Irish community, so they now focus their “evangelism” on new ethnic groups coming to Ireland.
Among the Muslims they evangelize are the 10,000 Levantines, a group of Arabs that live in many countries of the Middle East. Only about one half of one percent are Evangelical believers. There are no Levantine-Arab churches in Ireland or Bible translations. Only one Christian agency has committed itself to reaching them for Christ.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that this mission effort will bear lasting fruit for Christ. Pray that the handful of Levantine Arab Christians will be filled and overflow with the Holy Spirit. Pray that the gospel will spread like wildfire, and multitudes will accept the True Messiah. Pray that the new immigrants to Ireland will be protected from the deceptions being thrust at them. Pray that the terrorism that steals souls through false religions will be squelched.-PE
