All of us have an adversary, the devil. But so few know that Jesus is our advocate, the one who has overcome the world. Lebanese Arab Muslims know Allah as a judge, but they do not know that Isa, the one they know as a prophet, is an advocate to those who humbly come before the Father, seeking mercy for our sins. He is also in control of all troubles that can cause us to suffer. Shouldn’t these Muslims know?
Pray that the Lebanese Muslims in Serbia will soon hear about the advocate who has overcome the world.
In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world (John 16:33, The Message). “Those are the words of Jesus,” the missionary said to Talal and his wife, Aachal, just two of the 19,000 Lebanese immigrants living in Serbia. “Comforting words they are,” Aachal responded. She and her husband were dealing with chronic unemployment, and they were financially broke and at their wits end as to what to do about it.
No part of the world is immune to epidemics, natural disasters, and troubles; no people group is exempt, including the Lebanese immigrants in Serbia. Only about two per cent of them are Christian, and the rest are Muslims. Yet such difficulties and uncertainties in life often open a door for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Pray for the Lebanese Arabs in Serbia who are facing troubles they cannot manage. Ask the Lord to respond to their needs in a way that will draw them to Jesus. Pray that the crisis they may face will introduce them to God’s goodness. Pray that their difficulties will soften their hearts to God’s truth. Ask the Lord to open their eyes to see Him as the lover of their soul, their refuge, and their fortress. Pray that these Arabs will meet loving, caring followers of Christ who will share with them the truth of God’s Word.
