Acts 1:8, NAS
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and even to the remotest part of the earth.

In this version of the Great Commission, Luke emphasizes the power of the Holy Spirit for those who take the gospel to all the earth. For every people group that has the gospel, there is a Jerusalem (those of a similar culture nearby), a Judea (those of a similar culture who live further away) and those from different cultures far away. No one should be left out.

Thank the Lord for providing the power of the Holy Spirit to those who go to the remotest parts of the earth. Pray that He will raise up a team of workers to stay for as many years as it takes to see that the Kakabe people are discipled in the ways of Christ.

Kababe Malinke People of Guinea

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and even to the remotest part of the earth (Acts 1:8 NAS).
Four men from Sixth Street Baptist Church in Alexander City, Alabama, have become witnesses to the Kakabe people in the rain forest of Guinea, West Africa, one of the most remote places on earth. (See tomorrow’s map). In February these four men sold possessions to finance their way, left their wives and children behind, and traveled to Guinea in order to locate this unreached people group of less that 4,000.
The team has brought back videos and photos so that their church can get to know this group that they have adopted. Until that time, giving money was all this church had ever done for mission work. Now they say, “We are a testimony that God wants to use all of us to expand His glory and His fame to every corner of our city and every continent on our planet.” The church is beginning a partnership with the International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention to send teams several times a year to Guinea until the Kakabe people embrace the gospel, are discipled, and have their own churches.

Pray for God to anoint those working with the Kakabe people of Guinea with wisdom and insight, and enable them to express His truth so that it can be understood. Pray for perseverance for all involved with this effort.
