Matthew 5:44-45a
But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.

One of the best witnesses is to do what only Christ can enable us to accomplish. A Muslim man who has been cheated is being told by a Christ-follower to forgive the cheater. This is beyond human ability, and the Muslim understands that. No theological argument will turn a Muslim to Jesus, but through a godly Christian’s behavior, a Muslim will see Christ in us and perhaps turn to the Lord.

Pray that workers in Sumatra, Indonesia will be empowered by the Holy Spirit to act in Christ-like ways, which can be explained only by their relationship with the Lord.

Indonesian Workers in Sumatra

by S.P.

Ade and his wife Ria grew up in one of the few Christian areas of Sumatra. Both are gifted in sharing about Jesus in a natural and culturally appropriate way. They have a great burden for the lost of Sumatra and have ministered among a Sumatran unreached people group for the past 12 years.

Ade and Ria have hearts of compassion. They have opened up their home for an abused woman and her son to live with them. Ria recently befriended a woman who struggled with suicide after her husband left her. This unfortunate woman has five children, and her oldest daughter is an unwed mother.

Ade has built a strong relationship with the head of a nearby village. This man recently suffered through some unjust business dealings. When Ade talked about forgiving those who have wronged us, the village head readily admitted that this was best, and he also acknowledged that he was incapable of doing this on his own. Ade explained more about how Jesus empowers us to forgive even our enemies. With tears in his eyes, the village leader asked that they pray for him to meet Jesus in a dream.
