This verse is both comforting and disturbing. How can the eternal one not change for eternity? We know that He is perfect, and there is no eroding of His perfection. Eternal perfection! Hindus typically worship gods that have human-like faults. Don’t they deserve to worship the eternal, perfect Savior? But they must find Him first.
Pray for Hindu peoples to put away their old gods when they hear of the never-changing Lord of lords.
Susheela was perplexed. She had plenty of time to think as she worked at the sewing machine making saris. Everywhere else people would hire her for such a low wage that she couldn’t even eat. Then there was the harassment and exploitation. But here she was at a sewing center started by an India Gospel Outreach evangelist who wanted people to know about Jesus. Her family had always prayed to Hindu gods and appeased them with gifts, even when it meant not eating. But these “Jesus people,” as Susheela called them, didn’t treat her like a slave because she was from a low caste community. Instead, they treated her with dignity.
During the working hours other women would sing songs that told about how Jesus treated poor people and women. They were genuinely happy. The Jesus people said that He died on a cross to pay for the sins of the world, and He rose again.
As time went on Susheela made a confession of faith. She told other people in her family and village about the man from Galilee, and to many of them decided to accept Him as their true and living God.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that this message will penetrate many other families and villages in Orissa, India. Pray that each woman who makes a confession of faith will live it out in such a way that others will be attracted to Jesus. Pray that these new believers will develop a strong Great Commission vision, and spread the gospel throughout Orissa.-KC
