“This day the Lord will deliver you (Goliath) into my hands…that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.”
David was young. He had never been a soldier. But he knew God and he knew that God’s reputation among the nations was at stake. David understood too, that his victory over Goliath would be powerful testimony to Yahweh’s power and glory. This same God still yearns to bring men and women from all peoples to Himself.
Lead us, Lord, in Your triumph as we minister blessings in Your Name.
“Rama, you came to America in 1969, and now you operate 22 hotels! How did you do it? How is it that 40 percent of the motels in the US are now owned by Patels, when almost none of them here ever ran a hotel in India?” Kanjibhai just recently arrived from India, and he was eager to join his cousin in the motel business. Rama replied, “Hospitality is in our culture, and we are willing to work hard. The business comes with a house, the cash flow is good, and relatives and friends are willing to loan the money for down payments. It’s the perfect business.”
The Patels, a Hindu community from Gujarat, has found their niche in the motel industry. USA Today reported that there are 1.3 million Hindu Indians in the U.S. and more than 700 Hindu temples have been built in the last 10 years. Hindu-background believers say the most convincing argument for following Christ comes through the love Christians showed toward them. At this point, there are few if any outreaches to the Patels in America.
