1 Timothy 6:20
Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care.

Each of us has received a trust from God: that is, a deposit of knowledge, resources, and gifts. God expects individuals and groups to exercise responsible stewardship of this trust: both to maintain it and to use it so as to accomplish His purposes. This is the essence of stewardship: using resources to fulfill responsibilities. God entrusted to the Chinese church a “deposit,” so to speak, of tenacity and a desire to do things for Him. He is using them through the Back to Jerusalem Movement to win unreached peoples for His Kingdom.

Pray for God to guard and direct the work of Chinese believers, as they try to reach the nations for Him.

Chinese House Churches

by JS

Yes, missionaries still go into China, but surprisingly, Chinese believers are sending large numbers of missionaries out of China! God has used the last 60 years of persecution in China to train and prepare believers to reach the hardest areas on earth with the gospel.

A vision first came to Chinese believers in the 1930s when small groups of brave evangelists headed into the Muslim areas of northwestern China with plans to establish churches along the Silk Road in a westward direction. They called this the “back to Jerusalem movement.” In the 1980s the vision was renewed among Chinese house churches, as believers read their Bibles and realized that they too must obey the command of Jesus to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). This is a spirit-led vision that God has given the Chinese church, a vision to reach all nations between China and Jerusalem for Christ.

And they are going! These believers have seen the importance of reaching the Muslim expatriates in China for Christ and exhorting them to return to their people and share the gospel. Han Chinese believers are reporting exciting testimonies about the kingdom of God being extended to those along the Silk Road.

Ask the Lord to prepare the hearts of the peoples along the Silk Road to receive the good news.

Pray for the Back to Jerusalem Movement to multiply the number of workers as Muslims respond to the gospel with obedient faith.
