Romans 2:4-5
Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance? But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed.

Elsewhere in Scripture it tells us that it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the Living God. We would not wish His wrath to fall on anyone. That is one of the reasons why we pray for groups like the Bedawi Bejas.

Pray that the Bedawi Bejas will respond to God’s kindness by embracing His Son, so that they will not fall into His wrath.

Bedawi Bejas in Egypt

by CL

It is coffee, singing, and hair that has garnered them the nickname “fuzzy wuzzies.” This combination of interests and physical traits is just a sampling of what makes the Bedawi Bejas a perfect example of God’s creativity. Though mankind was created in His image, how very different every tribe, family and even individual is from the next!

Having lived as nomads for some 4,000 years in the deserts of Egypt and the Horn of Africa, the Bedawi Bejas are exceptionally skilled at animal husbandry. Some also herd cattle and sheep. Whatever the species of their charges, the Bedawi people know how to keep them safe from predators and find water and grazing for them, even under the most adverse circumstances.

The Bedawis are also noted for their independence. Perhaps this is their most positive and most negative trait. They refuse to give up and have proven to be perseverant in one of the most inhospitable regions of the earth, seldom seeking the assistance of others. On the other hand, they are also stubbornly Muslim and mix their practice of this religion with a belief in jinn (evil spirits) and idolatry.
Pray for this lovingly-made and highly-valued people group to discover the One responsible for their uniqueness. Pray for the Lord to reveal to them the gift of true independence—the freedom from sin, death, hell, and the enemy of our souls.
