Isaiah 42:3b-4a
In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; He will not falter or be discouraged till He establishes justice on earth.

In today’s world people like the Bangladeshis in Bahrain face injustice and misunderstanding. In the short run they don’t have much hope that things will get better. But there is a God who wants to establish justice on the earth. Could it be that He is the one they would seek if given the chance?

Pray that Bangladeshi Muslims will soon have the chance to seek and find the One who wants to establish justice on the earth.

Bangladeshis in Bahrain

by EJD

Squinting his eyes to get a better look at the massive tanks rolling into Manama, Bahrain, Ahadi looked down at the street below. Even from the fairly hidden third story room that he shared with compatriots from Bangladesh, the long line of army tanks looked menacing. When he left the poorer parts of Dhaka, Bangladesh, to make money so that his mother and sisters did not have to work in squalid and filthy conditions, he did not think that he would get caught in the cross-fire between the Shi’ite protestors and pro-government forces.
There are nearly 100,000 Bangladeshi workers in Bahrain. Most of them had come to Bahrain seeking a better life. Significant numbers of Bangladeshis are day laborers who work at construction sites. They are viewed with wariness by the Shi’ite majority in Bahrain who believe that their chances of employment have been usurped by them. To make matters worse, in the recent popular uprising the Bangladeshi community has been coerced by the Bahraini government to participate in pro-government demonstrations. This invites further retribution and suspicion by the Bahraini Shi’ites.

Pray for safety for the Bangladeshis caught in the cross–fires of fierce fighting. Pray that they might find peace and a home in Christ Jesus.
