1 Thessalonians 1:8
The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere.

One of the first signs that a church has indeed responded in obedience to the gospel of Christ is the witness the groups begin to exercise toward others, first among their own people, and then toward other people groups. Missionaries today tell story after story about those who have just begun to grow in their new-found faith. They are already expressing a deep concern for the fate of their Christless neighbors—often their former enemies.

Pray for the peoples just responding to the gospel —that the Word of the Lord will ring out from them.

Asia Harvest Work

by JS

Their evangelistic efforts are focused on China, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan, and northern India. They provide Bibles and write books and prayer materials in many of the languages of the people of these seven Asian countries. They have played a vital role in helping thousands come to Christ; yet they do not send a single missionary to those countries they serve. This organization is Asia Harvest which serves as a link between believers in Asia and those from the rest of the world.
Asia Harvest’s mission is to serve, work with, and help equip the local fellowships of believers in Asia. How do they do this? First, they ask members of Asian fellowships how outsiders can help. Then, they accomplish their goals by providing opportunities for individuals and organizations to pray for and support specific projects led by the fellowship of believers in Asia. Some of these efforts result in publishing Bibles and evangelistic materials; some requests are for training seminars for indigenous believers’ groups; sometimes the Christians need humanitarian projects for their areas. Asia Harvest has made available the profiles of specific people groups in many Asian countries. China has 704 such profiles, indicating the immensity of the need in that country.

Pray for Asia Harvest to continue to be a vital link in enabling indigenous people in Asia to reach the unreached in their vast continent.
