Luke 2:8
"There were shepherds living out in the fields nearby.... An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them"

Again we can see God’s focus on the insignificant and weak people of society. God determined to first send His angels to these humble shepherds in the fields rather than to reveal His glory to the proud religious leaders in the Temple. How quickly those shepherds hurried to Bethlehem to see Christ the Lord! Thousands of peoples today are equally eager to respond to the Good News. Will we give them the chance to hear?

Dear Father, help us to expect great things from You as we attempt great things for You!

Anazuh Bedouins of Saudi Arabia

Fatima’s mother brushed oil into her fresh clean hair making the slight waves shimmer and gloss in the lamplight. “Hold still! You will look beautiful for our guests. Perhaps there will be a future husband in the group.” Fatima’s fingers flew as her mother brushed her hair, putting the last of the scarlet and gold embroidery around the “burkha” her mother would wear to cover her from head to foot.

The married women would all arrive wearing short black veils over yellow smocks. They would enter through a single door on the street leading to an entire community of extended family in separate houses joined by a common roof and a shared small yard. Later Fatima would help her mother lift the roasted whole sheep onto a cloth on the floor as the centerpiece of the buffet. They would surround it with figs, rice, raisins and pomegranates and serve the most honored guests first.

Pray for the Anazuh Bedouins who are 100 percent Sunni Muslim and very opposed to the gospel. Pray that they may learn of the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Pray that they will learn of and accept the one and only door that leads to truth.-PE
