Isaiah 40:15, 17
Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket. Before Him all the nations are as nothing; they are regarded by Him as worthless and less than nothing.

To stand before a wall-sized world map is to catch a glimpse of the immensity of this earth. Yet Isaiah asserts that when we stand before the Creator, the creation dwindles to comparative insignificance. What perspective this fact gives to God’s people! We are so easily overawed by the scope of the Great Commission that our resolve weakens and our courage fails. But God is greater than His commission, greater than His earth, greater than any obstacles we will face. He loves the nations and regards them as infinitely precious and worthy of the death of His Son.

Pray that our Almighty God will teach us to fix our eyes on Him so that we may act in faith before the nations.

Wolio People

“If only I hadn’t been born a Wolio,” muttered Fifi, a 13-year-old daughter of Wolio dukuns. Jules is a neighbor of Fifi’s older sister. She is a foreign woman called to be salt and light among the Wolio. Extraordinary prayer has defined her work as a missionary. Through a season of prayer and fasting, Jules asked the Father to bring more seekers and persons of peace to her. Finding these kinds of people are essential to get a church planting movement started.

Driven by a hunger for something better than the Wolio belief system, Fifi began to spend time with this foreign woman. After several years Fifi has come to follow Jesus. Her spiritual journey has included multiple dreams and visions of Christ, healing from epilepsy, demonization, and persecution. Fifi’s story is chaotic. To reproduce multiplying disciples of obedient worshipers of Jesus is sometimes difficult. Jules clings to the reality that God is our constant friend, and He is faithful to His purposes among the nations.

The Wolio people practice Sufi Islam, a mixture of Islam and mysticism. They often seek after a dukun in order to secure a “helpful” spirit guide.

Pray for the Wolio people to recognize the demonic spirits that ensnare their hearts and keep them away from the true God. Pray for more church planting movement equipped workers to be sent to their area. Pray for a massive movement to Christ among the Wolio people.-RA
