Maldivians are noted for being closed to new spiritual ideas. Even people who come to them with different ideas about Islam often do not get a fair hearing. Very few Maldivians have been willing to embrace Christ. Perhaps it is because they live in a remote part of the world where they get little input from the outside world. Or perhaps Satan has blinded their eyes to the truth.

After settling down, he hoped to find a part time job. All his well-laid plans could be dashed if authorities found out that he did not have a return ticket and sufficient funds for his stay.

They are dedicated to what they consider to be true Islam, though it is blended with animistic beliefs. Tourism is one of the main industries in this beautiful tropical country. But few tourists have managed to share the gospel with the Maldivians. The Maldive Islands are a country that is closed to Christianity and no missionaries are allowed. But Maldivians who venture out of the country to places like India and Malaysia can hear the good news.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that Maldivians will come in contact with believers who will share the gospel with them. Pray for their hearts to be open to Christ.
