One of the main things Japanese people seek in Eastern religion is peace. There is an inner peace that all of us lack in our souls. Christ offers peace, but not the kind of peace that the world offers. He offers the kind of peace that only comes from knowing that the Creator of the Universe is in control of our lives. Our hope comes from God alone, our rock and salvation. At this time there are about 7,000 unreached people groups, including the large ones from Northeast Asia that we are praying for this month, who have no chance to experience this kind of peace.
Pray that as the nations come to the Father, they will experience peace in their souls that only can come from a relationship with Christ.
Mitsui wanted to help the earthquake and tsunami victims in northern Japan, so he set aside his studies at a Tokyo university and looked for a group he could join. All of the groups he found were Christian ministries. Mitsui wasn’t sure if God even existed, but he still joined one of the relief teams headed for the devastation zone. In the van on the way up, the other team members, who were Christians, spent much time in prayer. In the devastation zone Mitsui saw the love of God in action. By the time he returned home he wanted what these Christians had and asked how he could start a new life with Jesus Christ.
Many concerned people found that a year after the March 11, 2011 disaster only the various Christian ministries, such as Cru International, remained interested in helping the survivors start their lives over again. These groups have often allowed nonbelievers to join their relief teams. Many of these people have returned home with a hunger to know the God of their Christian teammates. As a result many have embraced Christ and His ways. The revival in northern Japan has now spread to Tokyo and points further south!Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray for the spiritual growth of the people being won to the Lord in Japan. Ask God to hasten the planting of new churches in areas where none have existed before. Pray that the current revival will spread to all parts of Japan.
