Psalms 144:3
Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.

Man is nothing! Nothing but a breath that lasts for a moment or a passing shadow. Furthermore, other parts of Scripture, especially the first chapter of Romans, tell of man’s evil desires and sinful nature. But is God constantly wooing unreached peoples like the Tajiks who are in rebellion against Him? Yes, indeed! Because of His love, His righteousness, and His holy character, God pursues unbelievers so that they may have an abundant life just as we His children do. In order to be righteous ambassadors of Christ, shouldn’t we be doing all we can to draw the unreached to Christ?

Pray that the unreached Tajik people will soon learn about Jesus who loves them and died on the cross for their sins.

Tajiks in Moscow

by CN

[Continuing from yesterday] The cleaning lady in the mosque finished her talk with the visiting university students. The professor asked, “Your flowered headscarf tells me you are Tajik. Is that correct?” “Yes!” she beamed, brushing back a strand of grey hair. The professor then inquired, “Would you tell us something about your people?” “Gladly! We are the oldest people group of Central Asia and the largest in Russia, I might add. There are about 120,000 of us in Russia, especially in this fair city of Moscow. We live primarily in Tajikistan and Afghanistan, as well as Uzbekistan. In olden days we worked as farmers and herdsmen. Europeans and Arabs traded with the Indians and Chinese, and our historic homeland was in the center of these trade routes. However, over the past 50 years we have become more urbanized.” The woman then frowned and added, “But we also have a history of oppression and servitude to other peoples.” After a brief pause, the professor then asked, “What of your religion?” “Oh, we have many ancient beliefs, but all of us are Muslim. The Arab invaders brought Islam to us.”
