Psalms 9:8
He will judge the world in righteousness; He will govern the peoples with justice.

This is a great example of the “not yet” verses of the Bible. God is a perfect judge, and He will govern with perfect righteousness. But for the time being, we still have to contend with injustice coming from man’s sinfulness and Satan’s deceit. Consequently, monsters like Josef Stalin murdered millions of Russians, Ukrainians, and Tatars, yet he lived to a ripe old age.

Pray that the Lord will speed the day when His righteousness and justice will fill the earth as the waters cover the sea. Pray that many will understand this Easter season that Jesus will come back to Earth to bring about a day when justice and mercy will guide the hearts of all mankind.

Muslim Crimean Tatars of Moscow

by PE

Petro listened as his grandfather rocked quietly in his chair. The singsong voice spoke of years long past when their people lived in the Crimea. But in WWII they were uprooted and scattered by Soviet dictator Josef Stalin across central Asia to make room for Germans to live by the sea. Grandfather told how little by little they began coming to Moscow to plead for the right to speak their language and write in their own Latin alphabet rather than the Russian alphabet, which does not produce the sounds of their language. “We are a Turkic Muslim people, but now we are also Muscovites. We tried once to go back to our homes in the Crimea, but we were sent back.”

The 700,000 Tatar people in Moscow are officially Muslim, although many of their youth practice only a few outward signs of Islam such as refusing pork, and occasionally uttering the daily prayers. The mosques are packed with mostly older men who like to socialize with old friends. The Crimean Tatars in Moscow hold tenaciously to what strands of identity they can salvage.

As they are in a time of transition, pray that they will learn of the Savior, Jesus Christ, who came from His home in Heaven to save them. Pray that they will find their identity in Him, and understand that He is the true and living God. Pray that they will be with Christ Jesus in eternity.
