What the Southern Kurds need are the words taught by the Holy Spirit, not those taught by human wisdom. The Holy Spirit brings God’s wisdom to man which is peace loving and true, as opposed to man’s wisdom which often brings division and strife.
Pray for the strife-weary Southern Kurds to hear and embrace the Word spoken by the Holy Spirit in God’s manual for human living, the Bible.

Their language is banned. They lack their own homeland. Water is scarce in their regions. They are deeply divided as to their direction. An old Kurdish proverb states, “The Kurds have no friends except the mountains.” This stems from their 4000-year history of conquering, being conquered, betrayal, and division.
The Kurds are better defined as an assemblage of clans than as a fixed people group. This is one reason they have not been able to establish their own distinctive homeland. Divisions among their own leaders have destroyed any chance of unity.
The Southern Kurds are active in working the fertile land they possess in northern Iran. Cattle and goat herding are their primary economic activities. Most Southern Kurds live in villages of 2000 or fewer people.
They are very proud of their national costumes. The men wear baggy, colored trousers and plain shirts along with brightly colored vests. Women often wear brightly embroidered, heavy clothing.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that more of God’s messengers will commit themselves to reaching the Kurds so that this people group can find and experience God’s vision. Pray that the Kurds will seek to know the true and living God and His will for them. Pray that their past choices will no longer rule their present choices.
