Peter knew something that the Tragami Nuristani people do not know-Jesus has the words of eternal life, and He is the Holy One of God. Have they heard of Jesus? As Muslims, they have probably heard that He is an important prophet, born of a virgin, and that He did many outstanding miracles. But until they know that there is no one else to go to for eternal life, they will remain apart from God.
Pray that the Tragamis will soon enjoy fellowship with the One true God through Jesus Christ.
“Too few, not worth the expense of a translator.” Some mission agencies cannot afford to train and send missionaries to places where a dialect is spoken by only a few people. “Not enough bang for the dollar. Not good stewardship,” they lament.
There are only about 1500 Tragamis, and they live in a tiny, isolated part of Afghanistan. Abdul works every day with his people. His blond hair and green eyes are strange to the Afghans he would see if he found his way out of the valley. Abdul doesn’t know that His Creator passionately loves him. Abdul struggles to appease his Islamic god by doing enough good deeds to outweigh his many faults. He doesn’t know that the Holy Spirit has been sent to teach him, correct him, and draw him closer to the One True God who is there to help him with his struggles. He works tirelessly for a god who cannot save him, and he doesn’t even know it. Who will tell Abdul and his people about Jesus? Prayer can pierce this darkness that blinds the 1500 Tragami people.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that Jesus will reveal Himself to this people group through dreams and visions and that the spiritual veil will be removed from their eyes. Pray that God will call servants to proclaim the Word of the Lord, and that the principalities and powers that block their way to salvation would be cast down.
