How many of you attend a Bible study on a regular basis? We often do this, and it’s a very good habit. The hard part is what you do after the Bible study. How do you apply what you learned?
Pray that the Darwazi people will have a chance to hear God’s Word and apply it to their daily lives.
“Dad, I can’t understand how you knew. You said that it would rain, and it did. “The father laughed, slapped his 10-year-old son on the back, and replied, “Allah always sends us enough rain for our cattle. If we don’t get enough rain, we go somewhere else where there is enough. Don’t worry about being in need, my boy, Allah will take good care of you.”
This father and son are from the Darwazi people of Afghanistan. There are only 14,000 of them, a small population even by Afghan standards.
According to the Joshua Project, (http://www.joshuaproject.net/people-profile.php?peo3=11510&rog3=AF) the basic unit of the Darwazi community is the village. Each village is surrounded by land used for farming and grazing livestock. Their homes are usually built on the side of a hill, close to a stream for their water supply. Their properties are divided into two sections, one for the people to live in, and the other for their livestock.
Like the other groups we are praying for this month, the Darwazis lack their own Bible. There are no known followers of Christ among them.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray for the Holy Spirit to produce a strong yearning for the true and living God among the Darwazi people that will lead them to the cross. May there be many from this people group who, like the man who found the pearl of great price, will give up anything and endure any hardship to find Jesus.
