Death and life. What a stark contrast! All of us would choose life over death. Circumcision represents being part of God’s holy covenant, His holy people, set apart for Him. The offer is for the unreached Zhuang peoples to accept becoming part of His holy family. Will they respond?
Pray for the unreached Zhuang peoples to choose life over death by accepting God’s covenant. Pray that as believers all over the world lift these people up to the Lord and others reach out to them, they will desire to be made alive in Christ.
“There are 50 cities, 700 market towns, and over 17,000 villages, all teeming with human lives for whom no effort whatever is being put forth.” This 1927 report described the dearth of spiritual effort among the Yang Zhuang people of China’s Guangxi Province. The Yangs are a sub-group of the Zhuang cluster, the largest minority group in China with more than 17 million people. The Yang Zhuang subgroup numbers about 928,000.
They are mainly an agricultural people who are strongly superstitious, worshipping the spirits of nature, and fearful of offending the spirit world around them. Global Recordings Network has audio recordings of Bible stories and evangelistic messages in their language. Perhaps the statement made in 1927 is beginning to change because, according to the Joshua Project, there has been widespread church planting within the past two years among Zhuang peoples. As with most unreached people groups, it is extremely important that those trying to reach them be culturally sensitive.
Pray that God’s servants working with them will have a heavenly wisdom that is pure, peace-loving, and considerate. Pray that God will reveal to His servants needed divine strategies to navigate the cultural issues they will face with the Yang Zhuangs. Pray that workers will find a person with an open heart towards the gospel in each Yang Zhuang village.
