Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…

The fact that we are all sinners should be obvious, especially to people who lived through the Khmer Rouge years in Cambodia. Death and destruction was everywhere in Cambodia, initiated by people who thought they were creating a paradise on earth. The sin of selfishness is apparent to everyone who thinks with an open mind.

Pray that Buddhist Khmer people will recognize that they need someone to lift them above the quagmire of sin and our fallen human nature.

Missionary Biography, Continued

“In the United States I entered junior high at the age of 14 and later graduated as valedictorian of my high school graduation class. I later graduated from college while working as a youth pastor at my home church. Because of the encouragement from my church’s pastoral staff, I went on to study at San Anselmo/Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. Later I earned a PhD at Fuller Seminary.”
“After seminary graduation, I launched the first Cambodian Presbyterian Outreach Program in 1996. I went on a mission studies trip to Cambodia three times. After moving to Tacoma, WA, I focused my attention on evangelism and developing a Cambodian church with the PC (USA).”
For over 20 years Pastor Sahara has been spending his time ministering to the spiritual needs of the Khmer Cambodian community in Tacoma, WA and beyond. In addition to preaching at his church, he leads Bible studies, visits prisoners, and offers spiritual help to struggling Cambodian families. His congregation includes about 25 people, most of whom are refugees from Cambodia. Rev. Chea’s goal is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in a fallen world and to create a community of faith that radiates the love of Christ to all. See: http://church46.synodnw.org/

Pray for this ministry to Cambodian refugees. Pray for them to find a permanent church home, and that God would raise up a team of people to reach out to Cambodians in the United States.
