Acts 4:10-11
It is by the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but God raised from the dead… that [the man who was lame] stands before you completely healed…. Salvation is found in no one else.

Peter and John were so bold in their witness that they were called before the religious council to defend their actions. Their defense was simply the Name of the Risen Lord Jesus Christ. Because Jesus was raised from the dead, Peter insisted, “There is salvation in no one else! There is no other Name by which we must be saved.” It is not enough for Muslim Malays to see Jesus as a prophet. They must understand that only He holds the keys to eternal life.

Pray for an understanding of what God revealed to Peter for Malay Muslims in London, Kuala Lumpur, and beyond.

Malay Muslims in London

by GEC

In London he calls himself Daniel, but his Malay family knows him by the Muslim name given at birth. In Malaysia he lived in fear that his faith in Jesus would be revealed. Now in London he feels a little freer. Tonight he joins a “meet-up,” a gathering of youths from Malaysia. It’s a casual time when anyone tied to Malaysia can relax and reconnect with people from their beautiful home country. Virtually all the ethnic Malays present are at least nominally Muslim. Some are devout. The national slogan is, “To be Malay is to be Muslim.” But with over 63,000 Malays and approximately 12,000 Malaysian students in Britain, he finds a more relaxed attitude toward religion and a looser link between Malaysians and Islam.
So he joins in discussions ranging from home politics to the recent protests in London—riots that injured a Malaysian student. He hears the criticism of so-called Christians in England. He feels sad for this misrepresentation of faith in Christ. Then he senses the Holy Spirit prompting him to speak to a nearby student. He breathes a prayer for courage and whispers to his neighbor, “Isa Al Masih adalah Tuhan.” (Jesus Christ is God.)

Pray for followers of Christ in London to show the love of Jesus to Malay Muslim immigrants. Pray that the Holy Spirit will stir the hearts of these newcomers to seek and find Christ while they are in transition.
