Romans 15:20
It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.

It might be easier for Christ followers to evangelize non-believing native English people, rather than try to give out the gospel to any of the unreached minority groups in London. How do mission agencies like Christar that are called to frontier mission work manage to go to a city like London and not fall into the trap of diverting their attention to people who are from reached people groups? Through much prayer and supplication to the Lord, frontier missionaries from Christar will be able to stay focused on what God has called them to do.

Pray for frontier missionaries, especially during the Olympics, to stay focused on the athletes and visitors to England from unreached areas of the world, and not fall into the path of least resistance.

Christar Work

by JS

“It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation” (Rom. 15:20). Christar’s ambition is the same as the Apostle Paul’s ambition. In 1930 a 70-year-old Scotsman named Benjamin Davidson founded Christar. It was known before then as India Mission. The original focus was ministry among the least reached people of South Asia. They now work in over 25 countries and with 70 people groups.
Christar’s Mission statement says, “Christar exists to glorify God by establishing churches among the least-reached Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Asians worldwide.” They do this through teams of people who are committed to the goal of planting churches among the least-reached through an agreed-upon ministry plan. Their aim is to start indigenous churches that will be culturally appropriate in proclaiming Christ. Team members’ skills range from areas such as education, medicine, engineering, business, and media. Christar proclaims that the good news is a treasure not limited to certain places or people; it is for ALL people from every language, people group, and nation.

Pray for Christar workers to be culturally sensitive to the people groups to whom they minister. Pray for open hearts to their message of Christ, and Him crucified. Pray for divine appointments for Christar workers as they seek to reach unreached Hindus, Muslims, and Buddhists in places like London where they have a chance to hear of His glory.
