John 15:7
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.

Imagine if everything you asked God for you received! According to Jesus, this can be a reality in your life. The secret is abiding in Christ and knowing His word. For when we are in sync with the Spirit of God, our prayers become aligned with His will. That is why it is important to know the Scriptures and claim the promises of God. God requires us to ask, to petition his throne, and to intercede for His will to be done with regards to carrying out the Great Commission. That is our part; and if we believe God, we will do all He asks!

Pray that the Spirit of God would ignite a movement of intercession for the nations who are not within the Church today.

Batsi People of Georgia

by GEC

As we prepared to fly to Eastern Europe, he stood tall and handsome with an eagle-like nose and a serious face. I introduced myself. He told me his name was Dimitri, and he was going home for a visit to Zemo Alvani. I did not know the town. He explained that it is a small community in northeastern Georgia where most of the people are from The Batsi people. “How is it that you are currently living in the U.S. now?” I asked. He explained that back in the 17th century his forefathers in the Dimitri family began the Batsi tradition of academic excellence by seeking higher degrees. They pursued higher education and helped found seminaries and colleges. He admitted, however, that most do not get to come to Chicago to study for a PhD like he was doing.
“What of the average Batsi?” I asked. He answered, “We number only about 3,100 people. Most of the women go to Western Europe or America for jobs. The men stay behind to tend the flocks and fields. “What about religion?” I asked. “Georgia is mostly Orthodox Christian, but neighboring areas are Muslim. Ever since the Soviet era, religion has not been important to us.”

Pray that the Holy Spirit will create a longing to know the true and living God in the spiritual vacuum of Batsi hearts. Pray that expatriate Batsi people will meet loving followers of Christ and turn to Him for guidance.
