The Lord will act to bless the nations, but we also have a responsibility. We must put away our idols of selfishness, love of money, and whatever else might be a hindrance to serving the Lord. Are we willing to dedicate our lives to the One who is calling us to tell the nations about the love of Jesus? Are we willing to do what it takes to be good ambassadors of the One who calls us to the nations?
Pray that the Holy Spirit will point out our idols so that we can toss them aside and watch the nations be blessed!
Imagine being part of a people group that has been living in the same region for thousands of years. And imagine being part of a culture that believes in a god that is too far away to know personally. Instead of offering worship to this god, you must worship statues inhabited by spirits in the hopes that they will, in turn, take that worship to the supreme being.
The Bobo Madare people of Burkina Faso don’t have to imagine what this would be like. It is their life and history. The majority of them practice a mixture of animism and Sunni Islam which leaves them spiritually empty and separated from the Lord.
This people group is unique in culture, language, and location. But in one way they are like every other unreached people: they need the salvation found only in Jesus Christ. The Bible was completed in their language in 2004, but the Bobo Madares have yet to realize that forgiveness of sins, a close relationship with God, and eternal life are available.
Pray for the Lord to send workers to the Bobo Madares with audio materials in their language. Pray for faithful believers to share the powerful, life-changing message of the gospel with this people group. Ask the Lord to set the Bobo Madares free from the bondage of Islam and animism.
