This book of the Bible not only gives a verbal description of the intensity of love, but it explains the value of it. The love that one has for their spouse or child pales in comparison to the priceless love that God has for humanity. Yet most people on earth go through their entire lives not knowing about His love. What are you willing to do to make sure that the Tunni people know His intense love?
Please pray for God’s direction to His Church as we draw others to experience His intense love.
Unable to walk anymore in the sweltering heat, the Tunni woman perched herself on one of the bald rocks that punctuated the dry brown land. Isha, her newborn daughter, was breathing erratically. Assuming a draught of water would ease the baby’s discomfort, she asked her husband for the water that had been their only means of sustenance in their 22-day hike across the desert. He turned toward her and said, “Aisha, we have other children under our care. How many more times am I to tell you that Isha is not going to make it?” She looked at her other two children; she knew they didn’t stand much of a chance if they didn’t get to the refugee camp soon. Then she looked at her youngest in her arms. Her breathing was becoming more and more labored. In one quick moment she made that difficult choice that most parents are spared. She set Isha on the hot ground beside the rock, gathered her bags and took hold of the three-year-old daughter’s hand and began walking toward the train of refugees. In the recent cataclysmic famine in the Horn of Africa, like most others, the Tunni people were forced to leave their homes in search of food for themselves and their children.
Pray that the Tunni people would find help to ease their suffering. Pray that God would raise up people to take the gospel of Christ to this predominantly Muslim community.
