Daily Topic for December 10, 2011
This is one of the most hopeful verses for those who love God and are called to His purpose. No matter what tragedies happen in our lives, God can use them for good. But in order for that to happen, we must love and obey Him. Through satellite TV, SAT-7 is providing an opportunity for people of all faiths to understand this liberating truth.
Pray that all peoples in the Middle East, be they Christian or Muslim, will understand the love of Jesus and chose His path.
In the midst of the nighttime bombing the Libyan family sat transfixed before the television show being aired by SAT-7 Christian satellite television. They praised Allah that their power was not interrupted. They were watching “Revealers of Secrets,” a Saturday night program designed to provide a lifeline to anyone in Libya needing to hear messages of God’s love.
The world has been so focused on daily news reports of the conflict between the rebels and the government forces in Libya that we forget about the ordinary people, their lives, their struggles, and yes, their faith. There are a few followers of Christ in Libya, and one videographer for SAT-7 says, “I believe the Christians there (in Libya), who have been praying for years, have helped to soften the ground for local ministry…. It is clear that many Libyans, especially Christians living there, watch SAT-7 channels and are hoping for a future with greater religious freedom.” SAT-7 receives viewers’ stories of triumph over abuse, persecution, and imprisonment. Demonstrating God’s power is often best seen in humanity’s most trying moments. We are reminded that “all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
Let us pray that God’s love and plan will trump the plans of evil, selfish leaders, and that Christ’s followers will respond to this adversity and develop into even stronger witnesses for Christ.
