Daily Topic for November 29, 2011
This verse, written by Paul to a young man he was discipling, was a summary of what believers need to do. As more believers not only spread His Word, but also disciple others, the Church will spread far and wide. No hostile government can stop what God is doing through discipleship.
Thank God for what He is doing through 222 Ministries. Pray that the model produced by 222 Ministries will be used in other parts of the Muslim world.
“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others” (2 Tim. 2:2). This verse inspired a group of Iranian believers in the 1980s who were asking God’s direction in their efforts to reach the Iranian Diaspora; thus the name for the organization became 222 ministries after 2 Tim.2:2. They sought the Lord for ways to rise up and develop leaders who would be able to influence the nation of Iran at every level of society.
After earnest seeking, these founders of 222 Ministries felt God was telling them, “Iran will one day be open to the gospel. Your mission is to help the church, particularly Iranian Christians in Diaspora, prepare for this opening and the harvest it will bring. Rise up leaders who can pass on the baton and disciple others. Get the people ready!”
222 Ministries has a multi-faceted approach—a network of strategic ministries designed to reap the harvest and raise and develop leaders who can transform the nation. By using the Internet, teaching resources, television, training seminars, and church planting activities, they are able to ensure that every believer who listens to them is grounded in the Word of God and able to give an account of his faith. It is working! 222 Ministries receives hundreds of emails and phone calls every month from seekers and those giving testimonies of their faith.
Pray that God will multiply their effectiveness like Jesus multiplied the fish and loaves to feed the 5000.
