Psalms 24:1
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.

Isn’t it a joy and a privilege to belong to the One who created us? Whom else would we want to belong to and serve? Because He created us, we belong to Him. He also claims us for His own by the right of redemption (Heb. 2:9). We who acknowledge Christ as Savior and Lord know we are not our own. We are bought with a price (I Cor. 6:20). Doesn’t that inspire you to want to share this good news with those who don’t yet know that they belong to the King of the Universe?

Pray that the Lord will burden our hearts for thousands of peoples still without a witness like the Muhajir people. Pray that the Holy Spirit will prepare the hearts of Muhajir individuals to hear and respond to His Word.

Muhajir People

by JWS

“Daddy, why is the road so crowded? Lots of people are headed in our direction, but just as many are going the other way.” The father replied to his son, “Remember last night when all of our relatives were talking about a new country? That’s where we’re going, so we can be with other people who believe in Allah. The new country is called Pakistan.”
The year was 1947. About 7,000,000 Muslims migrated to Pakistan from India and about the same number of Hindus and Sikhs moved from Pakistan to India. A large number of Muhajir Muslims settled in Pakistan, mostly in the city of Karachi in the southern part of Sindh Province. Muhajir literally means “refugee.”
Today, most Muhajirs are highly educated and successful in business, but they long for political power which eludes them. They wish to be represented fairly in government and treated with dignity. Native Sindhis resent the Muhajirs’ presence in Sindh Province and discriminate against them. According to an article about them in Wikipedia, they possess an “outsider” mentality, and they have a “relatively strong group identity.” They do not wish to be assimilated with other peoples in Pakistan. About 16 percent of Muhajirs were affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan last year. Virtually 100 percent of Muhajirs are Sunni Muslim.

Pray that the Lord will reveal Himself to them in supernatural ways. Pray that Muhajir elders will put their hope and trust in Christ.
