Daily Topic for November 14, 2011
The false “wisdom” of religion has led to the Bhangi people being viewed as almost less than human. Humiliation is part of their daily lives. There are Christian resources available to show them that the true God of Heaven offers true wisdom that is considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit. These people may be ready for the gospel, but who will go to them?
Pray for a team of believers to go as His ambassadors to the Bhangi people.
Thought of as ones low enough to carry human waste in buckets on their heads, the Bhangis are so low that even the lowest castes in India are higher than them! It is a hard life to be a Hindu in Pakistan. They are desperately poor, especially those who lived in Pakistan’s Sindh Province during last years’ floods. Hundreds of Bhangi people devastated by the flood waters died or lost all of their possessions.
Though they are classified as “untouchable,” they are not unreachable.
The 67,000 Bhangis may be poor in monetary wealth, but they are rich beyond their dreams when it comes to spiritual materials in their language. There exists for them a trove of Bibles, videos, gospel recordings, films, tracts, and booklets, all treasure maps pointing the way to the greatest gift ever given to mankind. However, they do not know about these spiritual materials, so they do not enjoy the spiritual riches offered by Christ.
But among every people group there are those to whom God has whispered. But, Islam and Hinduism is all they have ever known. If Bibles remain in boxes, how will they be read?
Pray for workers to take the wisdom of Heaven in a pure, peace-loving, considerate, submissive, merciful, and loving way to these most despised people. Pray for a wide distribution of Christian materials among them. Pray for them to soon accept the riches that await them in Christ.
