In this verse, God gave His blessings along with a mission to Abraham. By reference, that mission has extended to all of us whom, like Abraham, call on the Name of the Lord and bask in His blessings. The mission, or task, is to extend His blessings to all peoples or nations. That includes peoples like the Moghals, who currently have a twisted view of the identity of the God of Creation.
Pray that by the end of this decade, the blessing given to Abraham will be extended to the Moghal people of Nepal and India.
The Moghal people of Nepal are on the verge of extinction, and they may never hear about Jesus! Nestled among rugged mountains of Nepal, this tiny population of about 1300 goes about daily life. There are no known believers living among them. They farm their crops, attend typical Muslim cross cousin marriages, and speak with one another in the Urdu language, never hearing about Jesus and His love for them. Not all Moghals speak the Urdu language, which makes communicating with them even more of a challenge. Most likely their ancestors migrated from Mongolia. Today the Moghals are scattered over a large area comprising northern India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. There are a few Bible-believers among them, but none are known to live in Nepal.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that the Lord will stir the hearts of Moghal believers to be willing to be salt and light to their people in Nepal. Pray that the Moghals of Nepal will be receptive to the good news these believers have to share. Pray that soon Evangelical materials in Urdu and other languages will be readily available to the Moghal people. Pray for radio broadcasts to reach them in India and Nepal. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give them the gift of receptive hearts.
