Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

The question that the Miao woman raised, “Why are they so different?” can be answered with this verse. There is something supernatural that the Holy Spirit does in those who receive the Son and allow the Holy Spirit to work through them. This supernatural transformation draws others to the Lord who have not known that such changes are possible.

Pray that each of us will be transformed in such a way that we will draw the lost to Christ.

Current Missionary Work Among the Miao Peoples

Many Miao people have never heard the name of God, much less Jesus. In one village in eastern Guizhou Province, we asked a man if he knew of the God who created the heavens and the earth. He responded, “No. Does he live in my village?”
Later, we took a team of prayer walkers there. A Miao woman, Joye, ran up to us on the road and asked us to stay in her home. The ladies with me couldn’t speak her language, but they knew the language of love and spoke it loudly. “I’ve never met anyone like them before,” Joye said. “ I have nothing to give them, but they’re so happy, and they really seem to love me.”

Throughout the months that followed, a friend and I continued to visit Joye. Each visit she asked: “Why are you so different?” Each time we answered with the story of Jesus. At last, Joye gave her heart to Christ. “My brother always told me I should bow down before idols, but something didn’t seem right. But this is true! I know it!” Joye became the first believer in her village because four women crossed the ocean to show her love in action.
Pray God will open the way for every Miao village to hear about Christ.
