Romans 10:14
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

How many people in the world still haven’t heard of the Lord Jesus? That is very difficult to say—the Bible is translated into languages that more than 90 percent of the world speaks; Christian radio broadcasts blanket the earth; only a very few isolated groups have never heard anything of Jesus. But peoples like the Baloch do not yet know Him. In Pakistan and Iran, they have few opportunities to hear of His glory. Will they find out who He really is in Texas?

Pray for the Lord to raise up believers in Texas who will joyfully take the good news of the Savior to their Baloch neighbors.

Muslim Baloch People in Houston

by PE

Where Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan come together is a large area known as Balochistan. It is controlled by three different countries, yet the people who live there have a distinct identity and language. Because of violent ethnic struggles in their homeland, many Baloch people have emigrated to start a new life. Some of them now live in Houston. Although they have assimilated for the most part, they have not forgotten their Sunni Muslim religion, their homeland and the people who live there. Many speak out for justice in their new homeland, Texas.

In 2009, Baloch and Sindhi people joined together to peacefully protest at a Houston Hotel where Musharaff, the President of Pakistan, was speaking. (See http://mustikhan.newsvine.com/_news/2009/10/08/3363582-baluch-sindhis-to-protest-musharraf-in-houston) One man publicly charged Musharaaff with atrocities against the Baloch people. It is reported that this man was publicly threatened by the president.

Pray that the Baloch people in Texas will be shown respect and kindness as they find shelter in the United States. Pray that Christ’s followers will reach out to them in understanding and compassion, and with sensitivity, will share the wonderful ways of the Savior, Jesus Christ who wants them for His very own. Pray for a destruction of the principalities and powers that keep them bound. May there soon be a Baloch remnant that will take Christ to their families and friends.
