Who had such great faith? A Roman (Gentile) centurion. How ironic was Jesus’ discovery! Someone outside the Jewish nation and isolated from the revelation Israel had received had greater faith than those inside Israel. This month you will read of peoples from shamanistic groups whom God has given faith to embrace His Son. It will be a delight to read about people like Lyubomir, but you will also read about others who have not had a chance to hear that Jesus came to save sinners.
Pray that the Holy Spirit will give faith to those from unreached shamanistic nations who hear the gospel message.
My name is Lyubomir Tataev. I am from Yakutia Sakha and both my parents are from the Even nation, a small people group of only 18-20,000 people. My motherland is northeast from Yakutia. I have four older brothers and sisters and a mother. From childhood my family and I were taught to worship the spirits in nature. My mother also taught us how to worship spirits through fire.
In 1991, I became a soldier in the Soviet army. A believer came to our military base, and he started telling us about Jesus and how much He loved us. The first time he told us about Jesus I did not understand what he was saying. But after I started reading the New Testament that he gave me, I realized that I had found something that I needed. Reading the Bible, I realized that it is real and all the spirits they were talking about are real. It was a confirmation for me. At that time, I prayed and repented of my sins. I realized that my life was not good and that I needed Him.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that this very month, many unreached peoples in Siberia will hear the gospel and bow their knees to Jesus. Pray for the Lord to stir the hearts of many more in Siberia that need to repent of their sins before a holy God.
