2 Corinthians 4:4
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Like many religious communities, the Aga Khanis look to someone other than Christ to direct them. Someone will need to tell them with words and deeds about Christ, but it will take more than that. It will take the intervention of the Holy Spirit to enlighten them about the glory of Christ.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to do just that this very month, not only with the Aga Khanis, but also for the other Shi’ite communities.

Aga Khanis

by CL

His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV is considered the 49th Imam by Ismaili Muslims. They believe him to be the direct descendant of the Prophet Mohammad and a spiritual leader worthy of great reverence. “Aga Khan” is his title. The Aga Khanis obviously highly revere both the office and the man. They are known by the title and closely follow the teaching of Ismailism, the second largest branch of Shi’ite Islam.

While the name Aga Khan might be unfamiliar to some Westerners, it is well known throughout Central Asia and North Africa. The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is one of the largest philanthropic organizations in the world. Its stated mission is to “develop and promote creative solutions to problems that impede social development….”

While this seems like a worthy cause and many of the Aga Khanis are, no doubt, quite well intentioned, the Bible says their minds have been blinded by the god of this age. No matter how many “good works” they perform or how rigidly they conform to their religion, they are doomed to an eternity apart from God unless they discover His gift—eternal life in Christ Jesus.

Pray for the Aga Khanis to have the opportunity to accept God’s offer of life in Christ. Ask the Holy Spirit to move among them, softening hearts and removing the veil of blindness that has been stretched over their spiritual eyes. Pray for the Aga Khanis to see and revere Jesus Christ as Lord.
