The International Christian worker gazed intently at the goldsmith’s work as he busily shaped golden idols for local Hindu customers. With over two million Hindu deities the goldsmith will never run short of subjects for his craft! A quiet voice spoke to the Christian’s heart. “The Sonar people make all the idols and ritual pieces for the Hindu homes and temples. What would happen if the Sonar people found Jesus?” The Christian was struck by the magnitude of the thought. Six and a half million Sonar people finding Christ and rejecting the making of false gods—it would send the Hindu world reeling!” “Let it be so, Lord, please let it be so,” he prayed.

Pray for the targeted missionary work of the Southern Baptists and others who are taking the gospel to the Sonar people. There is now a home church of 17 believers and others are being reached. Pray for a great soul-harvest among the Sonar community and a tremendous witness to the millions of Hindus of India as they see their idol makers turn to Christ and find eternal life. May there be thousands of souls born again into the kingdom of God!
